Members

At the date of their election Members must possess the following two qualifications:

• A Degree granted by a Hong Kong or Foreign University in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Medicine, Biology, Physics or related science or an equivalent of such degrees as recognized by the Council. Advice on degree equivalents will be sought from other scientific bodies, e.g. Open University of Hong Kong;
• At least three years of experience essentially devoted to some scientific aspect(s) of cosmetics and/or technologically closely related products.

Associate Members

At the time of their election Associate Members must possess one of the following qualifications:

• A degree in Cosmetics Science from a recognized Academic Institution, with no experience essentially devoted to some scientific aspect(s) of cosmetics and /or technologically closely related products.
• The diploma in Cosmetics Science awarded by a recognized Academic Institution with no experience devoted to some scientific aspect(s) of cosmetics and / or technologically closely related products.
• Higher Certificate or Higher Diploma in an appropriate scientific subject, or a recognized equivalent, together with at least one year of experience essentially devoted to some scientific aspect(s) of cosmetics and/or technologically closely related products.
• An educational standard in the scientific subject of the Hong Kong Certificate of Education, Advanced Level, or a recognized equivalent of such qualifications, together with at least three years of experience essentially devoted to some aspect(s) of cosmetics and/or technologically closely related product.
• An educational standard in two scientific subjects of the General Certificate Secondary Education or a recognized equivalent together with at least five years of experience essentially devoted to some scientific aspect(s) of cosmetics and/or technologically closely related products.
• At least seven years’ experience relevant to cosmetics, Toiletries or closely related products.
• Any other qualification which, in the opinion of Council, make the candidate worth of Associate Membership.

Affiliate Members

• Affiliate Members are defined as,
• Those who are interested in the Society and their objectives may apply for an affiliate membership.

Students are defined as:

• Those pursuing any Diploma or other Cosmetic Science related course ultimately leading to Associate Membership of the Society.
• At the time of their election to Student Membership, Students must have a minimum qualification of two scientific subjects of the Hong Kong Certificate of Education, Advanced level, Ordinary Level, or a recognized equivalent.
• Membership of this grade is temporary: it covers only the period that a candidate for membership is under education. All Student Memberships are reviewed at the end of the course. Re-election is only permitted if the officers of the Council are satisfied of the Student’s ultimate intention to become a member: all By-Laws concerning Student Membership are subject to the discretion of Council.
